Hello, my name is Michelle and I have been trying to lose weight for the past 5 years. In 1997 I lost about 50 pounds and kept it off for about 9 years. Unfortunately, the stresses of life and being a single mother started to intrude on my weightloss accomplishment :-) When I noticed that I was gaining weight I would start working out and eating better, but for some reason I just couldn't stick with it like I had 9 years before. So as a result, I gained all the weight that I loss and then some!
In November 2011, I saw the Pink Method weightloss program on the Dr. Phil Show and was very intrigued, specifically because it is designed for women only. I told a friend about it and she ordered it. We looked at the meal plan and workout info and we both felt we could do the program. It took me another month, but I decided to order the program as well. So today (3/12/12), we started the program together.
Heeeeeeyyyy! I'm La-Vie B. and I am the other P.I.N.K. in the pod! I thought I would jump on and introduce myself. Michelle was so good about getting thing started and explaining what we are doing. This is my first time co-writing a blog. This blog is all about our health.
I started gaining weight at age 12 when my father passed of cancer. I turn 37 this year. Back in the day, no one thought of grief counseling or familyt counseling to help me deal with my devastation over the loss of my father. I ate my pain then and haven't stopped since. Now don't get me wrong, I have had a successful life however, this issue of weight has been the bane of my existence. This year, I waged war on the extra weight I carry and will give myself no more excuses to hide behind the bulge.
My friend Michelle told me about The P.I.N.K. Method and we have begun this weight loss journey together. At first I was in shock. I was like what??? We're really going to do this? But Michelle was so gung ho that I had to get myself together fast. Before I knew it, we were having our last big supper, taking before pics, shopping for all the healthy foods we need to have on hand and joining the P.I.N.K. community.
I thank God for Michelle and my other friends who are supporting me through this journey and joining in with me in their own special ways. Shout out to Crystal, Nikki, Seandra and Rhumel!
Until next time...Think P.I.N.K.!

ReplyDelete"Hello! I started P.I.N.K Method at the end of January and have lost 20 pounds. I'm on my second week of Phase 2 and really do like the program. I feel better when I eat healthy. I have always thought that was something healthy people said to make us "a few extra pounders" feel better about losing weight. What do you think? Do you feel better? My biggest trick with the water... Get a straw. :)"
Hi Kelly,
DeleteThanks for commenting. Yes, from past experience and from current experience with this program, I do feel better eating healthy. That's so funny that you said you use a straw to drink your water because, a few days ago a guest at the other Pink In a Pod's house suggested the same thing. Fortunately, I don't have a problem with drinking the water so I just drink it right out of my 1/2 gallon jug. :-)
Kelly, it's "the other PINK in the pod" La-Vie here.
DeleteI personally have not gotten that feel better sensation yet based on the eating, but I have gotten it from knowing that I am doing the right thing now. I love to see the scale going down. And now I have ZERO guilt about eating which is great! I don't get those disapproving glances for late night snacking anymore and I am loving it. The water is still an issue for me. I have not gotten to a gallon a day. I feel it has a lot to do with the weight loss. Using a straw has really helped me to drink more water. Thanks for leaving a comment (and sorry for deleting it by accident. I cannot wait to move to Pink Primary. I feel restless! How are you enjoying the workouts?
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI just started the Pink Method yesterday and I feel awful :( Massive headaches all the time. I LOOVVE carbs and sugar, think that's why I have the headaches. Anyone else have problems with that? Killing me.
Hi pmedic,
DeleteThanks for commenting. Yes, you are having carb and sugar withdrawals. some people have headaches for a few days, but then it subsides. Hang in there, it will pass and you will start to see the scale move if you don't cheat. :-)
Hi. It's La-Vie. Thanks for your comment. I loved them too chile!! I am almost at the end of a 2 week reset and it feels so good not to have indulged in anything processed for this long. I did not think I could do this...I thought I would struggle. Now there have been headaches but I step up my water and have a little veggies to overcome it. If all else fails I take meds if I have too. Once I saw that pound or more a day weight loss, it is easier and easier to choose (and it is a choice every second) to continue what I am doing to reap maximum benefits. I can't wait to start PINK primary on Monday. We want to hear back from you soon so that your story can encourage others!
